Crispy Chicken Croquettes

Ingredients (Makes 10 servings)

  • 4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1/2 tablespoon of margarine

Instructions

Preparation Time: 40 minutes

  1. Heat the liquids: In a saucepan, combine the milk, margarine, and chicken bouillon cube. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the flour: Once boiling, add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cool and knead: Remove the dough from the pan and transfer it to a flat surface. Let it cool slightly.
  4. Knead and shape: Knead the dough briefly, then start shaping it into small croquettes or “coxinhas,” resembling teardrop shapes.
  5. Fry until golden: Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot. Fry the croquettes in hot oil until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot: Remove the croquettes from the oil, drain on paper towels, and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious, crispy coxinhas!
